Discontinuation of SquirrelMail

The webmail service SquirrelMail will be discontinued on August 4, 2025. This means that access to emails via SquirrelMail will no longer be possible after that date. However, the emails and folder structure will remain on the servers, and server-side Forwarding, Vacation, Filter settings will continue to function. The address book can be transferred from SquirrelMail.

Alternatives

Local Client

Our continuing recommendation is to set up a  local email client (particularly Mozilla Thunderbird). Address books can be exported from SquirrelMail using the "Address book export" function and imported into Thunderbird via "Tools → Import."

Webmail

We continue to offer Roundcube as a webmail alternative.

The contacts can be transferred using the menu option "Settings → Contacts → Import contacts from SquirrelMail now." The import will be possible for 60 days after the shutdown of SquirrelMail.

Signatures and sender addresses can be configured under the "Identities" tab in the settings.

It is also possible to customize the Roundcube interface's look and feel to suit your preferences in the settings.
