World Backup Day

Backup is annoying, but not trivial

March 31st is World Backup Day! Everybody knows it's important, but nobody likes doing it. The worldwide day of action is reminiscent of an annoying topic: backup. That this is becoming increasingly important is not only shown by ads about lost laptops or stolen smartphones. Other threats can also become a reality for your data: Viruses, fire or simply inadvertent overstorage and deletion. Your data is important? Then take care of them!

This should be taken into account, when you plan your backup:

  • Save at least three copies of a file
  • On at least two different forms of storage media
  • And at least one should be decentralized (for example on another server)

Test data recovery at the beginning of the backup and at regular intervals to prevent data loss. Use the automatic backup in the HU-Box or contact your local IT representative or the backup service of the CMS!
