National Institute of Informatics, Japan: Advanced Research Data Management Services for Academia
In our pursuit of advancing research and supporting academic excellence, we are dedicated to integrating research data management (RDM) services that are not only effective but also automated and sustainable. As the demand for robust research data infrastructure grows, engaging with experts, stakeholders, and the broader community becomes crucial to understanding and addressing the evolving needs of data management.
Join us for an insightful virtual workshop where Dr. Yusuke Komiyama will present on “Advanced Research Data Management Services for Academia provided by the National Institute of Informatics (NII) in Japan”. This session will delve into the cutting-edge RDM solutions designed to enhance academic research and infrastructure.
This event will be held on October 9th, 2024, 10-11 am CEST. The FDM Webinar Series is organized and hosted by the CMS-Team for Research Data Management at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. To participate please REGISTER before the event.
About this talk
The National Institute of Informatics (NII) in Japan advances open science through the NII Research Data Cloud (NII RDC) for academic institutions. GakuNin RDM (GRDM) within NII RDC is a platform for managing and sharing closed data, based on the Open Science Framework (OSF) and adapted for Japanese needs. GRDM supports the authentication and authorization infrastructure (AAI), cloud service integration, and data provenance management. NII RDC also includes data analysis functions using JupyterHub, enhancing reproducibility. It implements machine-actionable Data Management Plans (maDMPs) for defining workflows and assessing data quality dynamically. This talk will provide attendees with insights into the latest progress of research data management and infrastructure in Japan.
About the speakers
