Workshop: Research Data Management for Agricultural Scientists and Biologists



The University Library and Computer and Media Service of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin offer a workshop with the topic „Research Data Management for Agricultural Scientists and Biologists“ in summer semester 2016.

The adequate handling of digital research data, research data management (RDM), includes all activities of collection, processing, archiving and publication of digital research data. In the last years research data management has become a highly relevant topic in all disciplines.

We therefore offer a workshop that will address the following topics in approx. 120 minutes:

  • What is research data?
  • Why research data management?
  • How does successful research data management look like?
    Which aspects do you have to consider?
  • Research data management at HU
  • Practical work with repositories
  • Insight into discipline-specific repositories (GFBio, http://www.gfbio.org)
  • Discussion, Q&A session

The workshop is organized in cooperation with GFBio. You can inform us in advance about the topics you are particularly interested in. No prior knowledge is neccessary.

Target audience: Researchers and doctoral candidates from agricultural sciences and biology
